Sinks Chosen With Your Countertop
Four styles of kitchen and bathroom sink, and each one changes how the stone is cut around the bowl.
Of everything on a countertop, the sink is the spot you touch most, and it's the one opening the whole layout is planned around. That's why we settle it with you early, while the countertop is still on paper, rather than fitting a sink in at the end.
We work with four styles, in kitchens and on bathroom vanities: undermount, top-mount, farmhouse and double-bowl. Each one sits against the stone in its own way, so your choice decides the shape of the cutout, how its edge is finished and even where a seam can land. The pictures below are manufacturer photos that show each style; they aren't photos of our installations.

Undermount Sink

Mounted beneath the stone, it leaves nothing on the counter surface, so crumbs and water sweep straight into the bowl. The edge of the opening stays in view, which is why it's shaped and polished in our shop like the rest of the countertop. It's a natural match for quartz, granite or marble, and our installers fasten it in place the day your countertops go in.

Farmhouse Sink
Manufacturer photo
Also called an apron-front sink, it pairs a deep, wide basin with a finished front panel that stays exposed below the countertop edge. Because it rests in its own base cabinet, it has to be set in place before template day, and then we measure around it and cut the stone to fit. Its look suits transitional, rustic and industrial-style kitchens alike.

Top-Mount Sink
Manufacturer photo
A top-mount, or drop-in, sink is lowered into the opening from above, and its rim rests on the countertop and covers the cut. The opening still has to follow the sink's outline, so we cut it to your model in our shop. It's also the easiest style to swap out later, since the whole sink lifts out from the top.

Double-Bowl Sink
Manufacturer photo
A double-bowl kitchen sink gives you two basins, equal in size or offset with one larger side, so you can soak pans in one and rinse in the other. It can hang under the stone or drop in from above. Two bowls take more cabinet width, so we build that into your layout before anything is cut.

Four Sink Models, Cut Into One Slab
A display that stands in our Boynton Beach showroom, where four styles sit in one slab at eye level.
A photograph only takes a sink so far. In our showroom, four models are set into a single slab, one under each opening: a divided double bowl, a wide single bowl, a deeper one and a compact square. You can look into all four and see how much surface is left around each cut.
It stands beside the sample rack on purpose: most people settle the bowl and the surface in the same visit, and that order saves time, since the opening is shaped to the model you pick. Come see sinks at the showroom and put your hands on the one you are choosing.

Cutouts & Installation
Sink Cutouts and Installation
Your sink model sets the shape of its opening, and every sink cutout is made before the stone leaves our shop.
Every sink has its own outline and corner radius, so we need your model settled before fabrication starts. The sink opening and the faucet holes above it are cutouts made in our shop, sized to that exact sink.
How the stone is finished at the opening depends on the style. With an undermount, the cut edge is exposed and gets polished; with a top-mount, the rim hides it. A farmhouse sink is already sitting in its cabinet when the crew comes to template, so they measure around it and we cut the stone to wrap its back and sides.
Long runs sometimes need a seam, and the sink opening is one of the places it can go, somewhere it won't draw your eye. You'll see the seam's exact spot on your slab before we cut.
Undermount sink installation is part of countertop day: the same crew that templated your space sets the stone, attaches the sink and cleans up before leaving. Timing and prep for that day are on our installation page.

FAQ
Sink Questions
Which sink style works best with a stone countertop?
There's no single winner; it comes down to how you cook, clean and want the room to look. Undermount gives the cleanest line, with nothing on top of the counter and a polished stone edge framing the bowl. A farmhouse sink puts a deep basin and its front panel on show, and a top-mount rests its rim on the stone. We work with all four, double-bowl too, and our crew attaches undermount sinks when the countertops are installed.
Can a farmhouse sink be installed with quartz or granite?
Yes. Whether it's a farmhouse sink with a granite countertop or an apron-front sink under quartz, the process is the same. The sink goes into its base cabinet first and has to be there on template day. Our crew then measures around it, we cut the stone to fit in our shop, and the same crew installs the countertop around the sink.
What is the difference between an undermount and a top-mount sink?
It's all about where the rim sits. An undermount sink is fastened beneath the countertop, so the edge of the stone opening shows and is finished smooth. A top-mount, or drop-in, sink is set in from above, with its rim resting on the counter to hide the cut. Either way, the opening is cut to your sink's exact size in our shop, and undermount sinks are attached by our crew on installation day.
