Small Projects

Countertop Remnants for Small Projects in Boynton Beach

For the job that needs a piece of stone, not a whole slab.

Some countertop jobs are small by nature: one bathroom vanity, a folding counter in the laundry room, a compact kitchen. For those, a remnant gets you the same quartz or natural stone we fabricate for larger kitchens, without starting from a whole slab. And since that piece is already in our inventory, its price is often lower.

Shopping our countertop remnants for sale starts the same way as any other project: a free estimate, either in our Boynton Beach showroom or at your place, with no obligation. Ask what’s available in your size, and we’ll tell you whether a remnant can cover it.

The Basics

What a Countertop Remnant Is

A usable piece of stone left over once a larger project is cut.

A full slab is roughly 120 by 55 inches. When a larger project is laid out on it, the counters don’t always use every inch, and the usable stone that remains is a remnant.

Because it’s cut from the same slab as a larger job, a remnant keeps that slab’s color, pattern and thickness, whether 2 cm or 3 cm. It’s simply a smaller piece, which is what makes it right for a smaller project.

We don’t list remnant slabs on our website, so the quickest route is to ask us about quartz remnants, granite remnants or other natural stone in the size you’re after.

Where Remnants Work

Best Projects for Remnants: Vanities, Laundry Rooms and Small Kitchens

Kitchen islands belong on that list too: any counter that needs less stone than a full slab holds.

Bathroom vanities

A vanity top is a short counter around a sink, the kind of piece a remnant is made for. We cut the sink opening in our shop before install day. Remnant vanity tops are one route; our bathroom vanity tops page covers the rest, from single to double vanities.

Laundry rooms

A folding counter over the washer and dryer takes a modest piece of stone, which suits a remnant well. If yours is quartz, it never needs sealing; granite gets resealed every 1–2 years.

Small kitchens and islands

A compact kitchen or a smaller island can sometimes come from a single remnant, depending on the layout. On a kitchen counter, granite and quartzite handle heat well; with quartz, set hot pans on a trivet.

Not sure? Send the measurements first. A photo and rough dimensions are enough to get started, and we’ll say whether a remnant can work.

How It Works

How to Shop Our Remnant Inventory

Start with your measurements, and we’ll check what’s on hand.

  1. Measure the space. Note the length and depth of the counter, or snap a photo with rough dimensions; a hand sketch is fine. Would you rather we measure? That’s free.
  2. Tell us what it’s for. Just tell us the size you need, the room it’s for and the look you like, or stop by our Boynton Beach showroom and we’ll go over it with you.
  3. We check what’s on hand. We look for a remnant that covers your size and let you know what’s available.
  4. Get your free estimate. You see the price before anything is cut, with no obligation.

No remnant in your size?

A full slab can still make sense for a small job. Slabs from our stock are priced per square foot, so you’re charged for the counter area you use, not for the whole slab. Look through our full slabs in stock before you call.

Fabrication & Installation

Fabrication and Installation for Remnant Projects

A smaller piece, with the same shop and the same crew.

A remnant gets the same fabrication as a full slab: it’s cut and polished on our CNC equipment here in our Boynton Beach shop, never sent out.

Before we template, the vanity or cabinets need to be installed, along with anything that sits above or below the counter. Templating is done by the same crew that later installs the top, and it’s our own team; we don’t hand the job to a subcontractor.

On install day, the crew sets the stone, mounts the undermount sink if your project has one, and cleans up before leaving. For timing and how to get ready, see our installation page.

Our standard quoted edge is straight polished. Want a different profile? Bring it up when we price your remnant.

FAQ

Countertop Remnant Questions

What is a countertop remnant?

It’s a piece of quartz or natural stone that a larger job didn’t use up. We fabricate and install remnants as smaller tops: bathroom vanities, laundry room counters, small kitchens and kitchen islands. Since the piece already exists, it’s often priced lower. Call (561) 200-5555 and we’ll check what’s on hand for your project.

Can a remnant be large enough for a small kitchen?

Sometimes. Small kitchens and kitchen islands are on the list of projects a remnant can fit. Whether one piece covers yours depends on the layout: a full slab measures roughly 120 by 55 inches, and a remnant is what’s left after part of one is used. Send a photo and rough measurements, or have us measure for free, and we’ll tell you if a remnant works or a slab from stock is the better start.

Why can a remnant cost less than a full slab?

Because the stone already exists. A remnant is left over from a project that has already been cut, so it’s sitting in our inventory, and that’s why its price is often lower. We don’t publish remnant prices, because the number depends on the piece and on your project. You’ll see it on your free estimate, before anything is cut.

Which projects are a good fit for a remnant?

Projects that need a smaller piece of stone: vanity tops, laundry counters, small kitchens and islands. A single-sink vanity top is a good example. A kitchen with long runs usually needs a full slab instead, and slabs from our stock are priced by the square foot.
