Why Quartz

Why Boynton Beach Homeowners Choose Quartz Countertops

A stone look without stone upkeep, made for kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms.

Quartz countertops are made from natural quartz blended with resin and pigments, so the color and pattern are consistent and repeatable.

The surface is non-porous. Coffee, wine and cooking oil stay on top, where a sponge can reach them, and you never have to seal it. In a humid South Florida kitchen, that is one less chore on the calendar.

We don't just sell quartz, we stock it. Our Boynton Beach showroom keeps 500+ slabs of quartz, granite, quartzite and marble, so you can compare colors side by side and choose the very slab we'll cut your countertops from.

Before you come to see one

Every slab on this page is in our inventory and was photographed in September 2026. Call (561) 200-5555 with the slab number and we'll confirm it's still available and where you can see it.

Our showroom is at 2114 Corporate Dr, off I-95 at Woolbright Road and about a minute from Lowe's, open Mon–Fri 8am–5pm and Sat 9am–2pm. Bring a cabinet door or a paint chip so you can hold it against the stone.

The quartzite and marble we have in stock are photographed the same way. See them next to the quartz slabs in stock, on one page.

Want something you don't see here? We work with outside suppliers and can look through their catalogs for you. Stone ordered that way can have to be bought as whole slabs, instead of by the square foot the way our own stock is priced.

Pros & Cons

Quartz Pros and Cons for a Florida Home

Quartz asks very little of you day to day. It has two limits worth knowing before you choose it.

Where quartz shines

  • Never needs sealing, not even once
  • Non-porous, so spills don't soak in
  • Consistent, repeatable color and pattern
  • Marble-look designs, without marble's porous surface

What to plan around

  • Not for outdoor kitchens: direct sun can discolor the resin
  • Hot pans go on a trivet, never straight onto the surface
  • Not one-of-a-kind. For a pattern no one else has, look at natural stone
  • A standard slab is about 120 by 55 inches, so long runs and big islands can need a seam

Weighing marble too? It's softer and more porous than quartz and develops a patina, which is why we suggest it for vanities and feature areas. For a deeper side-by-side, read our quartz vs granite guide.

Where It Works

Best Uses for Quartz: Kitchens, Vanities and Laundry Rooms

Indoors, quartz earns its keep in the rooms that get wet and busy.

Kitchens

Perimeter counters, islands and waterfall ends, with a backsplash cut from the same quartz, from a 4-inch splash to full height. Layouts and islands are covered on our kitchen countertops page.

Bathroom vanities

A non-porous top keeps toothpaste, makeup and water from soaking in around the sink. We make quartz vanity tops with the sink opening cut in our shop.

Laundry rooms and bars

Folding counters and bar tops get wet and sticky, and quartz wipes clean with no sealing. For a small top, ask about quartz remnants: leftover stone from larger projects, already in stock and often priced lower.

Outdoors? Skip quartz. For an outdoor kitchen or BBQ area, we recommend granite or quartzite.

Care

Caring for Quartz Countertops Day to Day

No sealer and no maintenance schedule. A few simple habits are all quartz asks.

  1. Wipe it down after cooking; a damp cloth does most of the work.
  2. Clean up coffee, wine and oil when you see them. They sit on the surface instead of soaking in.
  3. Set hot pans and baking sheets on a trivet or hot pad.
  4. Cut on a board, not on the counter.
  5. Skip the sealer. Quartz doesn't need it, now or years from now.
  6. Not sure about a cleaner? Ask us before you use it.

Fabrication & Installation

How We Fabricate and Install Your Quartz Countertops

One team from the first measurement to the final wipe-down: cut in our own shop and installed by our own crew, never a subcontractor.

Each step below is covered in more depth on our countertop fabrication and countertop installation pages.

1

Free estimate

At your home or in our showroom. No measurements yet? We measure for free.

2

Choose your slab

Pick the slab itself, then the edge profile, the sink style and the backsplash height.

3

Digital templating

Once the cabinets are set and anything going above or below the counter is in place, the crew that will install your quartz measures the space digitally.

4

Layout and fabrication

We plan every piece on your slab so the veining flows and the seams sit out of your main sight line, and we show you where they fall before cutting. Then the CNC cuts, shapes and polishes.

5

Installation

Installation typically comes 7–10 business days after templating. Our crew sets the quartz, mounts the undermount sink and leaves the room clean. Most kitchens are installed in a single day.

Need your sink and cooktop disconnected and reconnected? Ask about it when we prepare your estimate.

Thickness
2 cm or 3 cm. Busy kitchens often go with 3 cm.
Edges
Straight polished as standard, plus eased, beveled, ogee and mitered, and waterfall ends for islands and peninsulas.
Finish
The slab comes with its own: the quartz in our stock is polished, except Taj Mahal quartz (Slab AC-16), which is honed, a matte finish.
Cutouts
Sink, cooktop and faucet openings, cut in our shop.

Cost

What Affects the Price of Quartz Countertops

Quartz is priced by the square foot, and that price covers the material, templating, fabrication and installation.

Price factorWhat changes it
Square footageThe length of your countertop runs, the island, and whether the backsplash is a 4-inch splash or full height
Where the slab comes fromA slab from our stock is priced by the square foot, so you pay for the area your project uses rather than the whole slab. Stone ordered from an outside supplier may have to be bought as whole slabs.
LayoutSlabs are about 120 by 55 inches, so a long island or run can need more than one slab or a planned seam
Thickness2 cm or 3 cm, which are priced differently
Edge profileStraight polished is standard; eased, beveled, ogee, mitered and waterfall edges are quoted to your design
CutoutsEach sink, cooktop and faucet opening is cut in our shop and shows on your estimate
Tear-outRemoving and disposing of your old countertops, listed on your estimate when your project needs it
Slab layout Plan of a kitchen run and an island. The run is longer than one slab of about 120 inches, so it is cut from two slabs and joined at a planned seam, drawn in green. ONE SLAB · ABOUT 120 IN 1 2 3 4

We don't post a price per square foot, because two quartz kitchens rarely measure or cut the same. Send a photo and rough measurements (a hand sketch works) and we'll price your exact layout. Prefer that we measure? That's free too.

FAQ

Quartz Countertop Questions

Does quartz need to be sealed?

No. Quartz is non-porous, so there is nothing for a sealer to fill, and it never needs sealing. That's one of its clearest differences from granite, which we recommend resealing every 1–2 years.

Can I set a hot pan directly on quartz?

We don't recommend it. Put hot pans and baking sheets on a trivet or hot pad. If you like to set cookware straight down off the stove, look at granite or quartzite, which handle heat well.

Is quartz a good choice for an outdoor kitchen in Florida?

No. Quartz is bound with resin, and direct sun can discolor it, so we don't recommend it outdoors. For a patio kitchen or BBQ area, we recommend granite or quartzite.

Which quartz colors do you keep in stock?

The quartz slabs in our own stock include Calacatta Giovanni, Calacatta Laziano, Calacatta Michelangelo Gold, Calacatta Venatino Gold, Calacatta Verona, Calacatta Blanca, Calacatta Capria, Calacatta Black, Campagnaro Vivace, Soothing Silver, Statuario Silver, Bellissimi Rami, Mistery White and Taj Mahal quartz. Every one of them is photographed above with its slab number. What's on the racks changes as slabs go into projects, so call (561) 200-5555 with the number and we'll confirm it before you come. We can also look for other stone through our suppliers.

What is the best way to clean quartz countertops?

Warm water, a soft cloth and a drop of mild dish soap handle everyday cleaning. Because quartz is non-porous, spills stay on the surface until you wipe them, and there's never a sealer to keep up with. If you're unsure about a specific product, ask us first.
